ইসলামে সাদাকাহ্ কেবল অর্থ বা সম্পদ দান করার মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ নয়; বরং এটি ঈমানের এক অনন্য বহিঃপ্রকাশ এবং সমাজকল্যাণের একটি প্রধান মাধ্যম। 'সাদাকাহ' শব্দটি আরবি 'সিদক' থেকে এসেছে, যার অর্থ সততা বা সত্যতা। আল্লাহ তাআলার সন্তুষ্টির উদ্দেশ্যে নিঃস্বার্থভাবে যেকোনো ভালো কাজ করা কিংবা সম্পদ দান করাই হলো সাদাকাহ।
সাদাকাহ্র ধরণ:
১. ওয়াজিব সাদাকাহ: যেমন যাকাত বা ফিতরা।
২. নফল বা ঐচ্ছিক সাদাকাহ: যেকোনো সময় নিজের ইচ্ছানুযায়ী দান-সদকা, পথ থেকে কষ্টদায়ক বস্তু সরানো, কারো মুখে হাসি ফোটানো, এমনকি সুপরামর্শ দেওয়াও সাদাকাহ্র অন্তর্ভুক্ত।
৩. সাদাকায়ে জারিয়াহ: এমন কোনো ভালো কাজ যা মৃত্যুর পরও মানুষকে ক্রমাগত সওয়াব পৌঁছাতে থাকে (যেমন: মসজিদ নির্মাণ, নলকূপ স্থাপন, বা দ্বীনি শিক্ষা প্রদান)।
সাদাকাহ্র মূল উপকারিতা:
পাপ মোচন ও বিপদমুক্তি: সাদাকাহ্ মানুষের গুনাহ মুছে ফেলে এবং নানাবিধ বিপদ-আপদ থেকে রক্ষা করে।
সম্পদে বরকত বৃদ্ধি: বাহ্যিকভাবে অর্থ কমে মনে হলেও আল্লাহ সাদাকাহ প্রদানকারীর সম্পদে বহুগুণ বরকত দান করেন।
আত্মার আত্মশুদ্ধি: এটি মানুষের মন থেকে হিংসা, লোভ ও কৃপণতা দূর করে আত্মাকে পবিত্র করে।
